1. Context of the mission

Our Organization:

“Portfolio Management & IT Processes” is part of “IT Group Services”.

Within this department our entity is responsible for the hands-on support towards “Projects & Program Management”. In practice this means that we develop methods and tools that support the delivery of high quality projects. These methods and tools are subsequently implemented in the field by IT PPM coaches. The mission of the coaches is “to Continuously professionalize People to improve their Ability to deliver Quality and Value”. The effect of this coaching on the quality of the project portfolio is constantly measured and corrective actions are taken where needed.

2. Period mission

Start date: ASAP Duration: 3 months with possible extension.

3. Language requirement

Knowledge of French, Dutch and English is mandatory.

5. Required knowledge and experience

Required level and content of -You have a University degree or similar

education qualification through experience

Personal skills Mandatory: -You have good social skills and can adapt your style to the target audience -You are a good listener and can quickly identify improvement areas

-You have an eye for the interests of the coachees and use these to make your coaching successful

-You are not discouraged by any degree of resistance

- You are practical and result oriented

Business experience required Mandatory: -You can demonstrate practical experience in the area of project management -You can demonstrate practical experience in coaching and training

Preferable: -A theoretical background on project management (Prince2) is an asset

-Experience with portfolio and resource management and Clarity & Open Workbench are an asset

6. Objective of the job

As an IT PPM coach you are accountable for the following:

1. Your first target audience consists of project managers. By means of coaching you will develop their skills and knowledge so that they can manage their projects more efficiently and effectively. -This coaching can happen with respect to:

1. o a running project. You will first make an assessment of the project using interviews and reviews of deliverables. Based on the findings you will draft and execute an adapted coaching plan regarding identified improvement areas
2. o a new project for which a coaching plan is drafted upfront
3. o specific health checks performed on demand of portfolio management. If necessary, you will get projects gone astray on track again

-When necessary you will also coach the project manager’s environment. This can be very divers: team leaders (responsible for a work package – group of deliverables), business project managers, project board members (executive/sponsor, senior supplier, senior user). The only goal of this is to make sure that the project manager can do his job so that the quality of the project management would be assured

- As subject matter expert you are co-responsible for creating and maintaining the project management methods and toolkit.

1. Your second target audience consists of people who manage budget envelopes covering maintenance of systems and small requests. Your will assist these people in planning and managing their envelopes.
2. Finally you participate in creating and animating a community of project oriented professionals
